Sometimes I feel like I will never be good enough for some people. At times I feel as if some of my friends and their parents hold things against me that I have no control over. Apparently it's unacceptable to take breaks off of school. I don't see it being a bad thing at all. The majority of people it seems, graduate high school than go directly to college I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I just chose to live life for a couple years, and not rush into things. I wanted to know who I was, not what I thought I wanted to be. I didn't want to rush into college go to school for something in the long run I would not be happy with. I wanted to do something that I genuinely liked, something that I would be able to do. A lot of people go to school for the same thing when there isn't even a great need for them. I do not waste thousands of dollars on something when there is no need for it. So yes, now I know what I want to do and I have actually known for the past few years and next spring I am going full force with it. |

So, for the past eight or nine months I've been doing stuff with Unicef. It's been really fun, and i've been learning a lot. I received this package in the mail a few days ago it had a few letters in it so after reading those I looked at "gift catalog" that was sent along with it, and it got me thinking.
I do not want anything for christmas, and I know plenty of my friends feel the same way because they don't need anything. So after flipping through the catalog I decided to donate money to others in these poverty stricken countries. You can donate money, or you can actually donate by buying stuff from the catalog. Nets, vaccines, vaccine carriers, therapeutic milk, bicycles, tents,therapeutic nut spread, wool blankets, water kits, water well hand pump, hiv test, school supplies and a bunch of other stuff.
I know you guys don't have it that bad, and you can afford to give 20 dollars. I think some people need to start realizing what they have, and how good they have it compared to others. :) |
